The Coast’s youngest scientists have been recognised on a national level.
Malangenna Children’s Centre has won the people’s choice award for the Little Scientists STEM competition. Centre director Christie Goss said the staff work to incorporate scientific research and discovery into daily activities.“We believe this is best done by encouraging an active learning environment, where we, the childhood educators and teachers and learning facilitators, and the children undertake the actual learning, problem-solving, exploration and research themselves.”
The program taps into the natural curiosity of children and sets them on a journey of discovery and a lifelong love of learning.
Miss Goss said it was great to know that the community had voted for them on a national scale.
“We recognise the importance of our curriculum and what we are providing to the children,” she said.
