Heads and tails

Play a little guessing game as you’re shown just the tails of a number of insects alongside descriptions of their attributes, behaviours, habitats and movements. How many insects can the children recognise just by their tails? What was the feature that gave them away? Can they find all these creatures in the garden? The children could create similar drawings and riddles of other insects and animals for their friends to guess.
With our book recommendations, we want to spark an interest in children to discover STEM in their everyday lives. Most books go beyond the obvious STEM connections and can be a great starting point for exploring children’s questions and ideas further.
