Dive into the ocean and discover the Arctic ice, African plains and Australian bush using just this book and the children’s imagination. Where could you meet a tamandua or a twist-necked turtle? Do you know where the kittiwake flies and the sea-dragon swims? Would you prefer to be limpet or an impala?
Talk about the animals’ habitats and what might happen if they were moved somewhere else. How would the wombat cope in the jungle? Would the elephant be happy in a prehistoric swamp?
Combine children’s creativity and imagination with learning about the natural world and broadening their vocabulary by learning the animals’ names, making their conversations and observations more specific. Imagine is a wonderfully illustrated book with a sense of wonder and abundance of colour.
With our book recommendations, we want to spark an interest in children to discover STEM in their everyday lives. Most books go beyond the obvious STEM connections and can be a great starting point for exploring children’s questions and ideas further.
