Get creative with shapes by looking at all the things that can happen when you take a square apart. In this book, the square can turn into all kinds of wonderful things. What attributes does a square need, to be classified as a square? Which other shapes do the children know? You could ask the children if they want to cut out their own shapes and see what they can be turned into.
With our book recommendations, we want to spark an interest in children to discover STEM in their everyday lives. Most books go beyond the obvious STEM connections and can be a great starting point for exploring children’s questions and ideas further.
