Swimmy

Ocean with seaweed

Sometimes things aren’t what they seem to be… Swimmy, the little black fish, enjoys exploring the beautiful creatures in the big ocean while his red brothers and sisters are hiding behind the rocks for fear of being eaten by the big fish, until Swimmy’s idea allows the red fish to experience the bigger world beyond the rocks.

Reading this story about one brave fish and his friends may inspire conversations about optical illusions, camouflage, food chains and how animals stay safe from predators. The story also has a message appropriate for little scientists: It is much more fun to explore the world as a group than on your own.
