Lynne Graham

Lynne Graham
STEM Leader since May 1, 2021.

Lynne Graham, NSW

Lynne Graham is a fan of inquiry-based STEM learning because STEM creates wonder, excitement and challenge and opens up a world of questions for children to explore. And it is fun! With 15 years’ experience in early childhood education, the Centre Director at Toybox Early Learning enjoys preparing children for life, not just school.

Lynne likes to encourage children to explore the world around them using their senses, and she has a strong passion for STEM exploration as well as creating healthy bodies and healthy minds.

Water is Lynne’s favourite Little Scientists workshop as it is a great starting point into the educational approach to STEM with Little Scientists. It also appeals to her that the Water workshop involves all the senses.

Lynne enjoys conducting experiments with the children and loves to challenge them to explore hands-on. To Lynne, early childhood education without STEM would be like macaroni without cheese. Lynne believes her role in the children’s discovery and research is to facilitate, collaborate and participate in the learning. It is also important to her to encourage the children to get involved and have a go as she believes that STEM is a great platform for teaching children that it’s ok to make mistakes. “If you get something wrong or it doesn’t work … you try again,” she says.
